On the way to the Canadian Rockies, I got $5 in the bus station bathroom, we hitchhiked with two interesting strangers, rode in back of an Royal Canadian Mounted Police car (~~ yeah… despite what American TV tells you about the RCMP, he WASN’T riding a horse), camped in a snowfall wearing our extra playa gear to keep warm, and I was given a pair of shoes out of sympathy.

Patrick and I picked up at 27-foot food truck that was scheduled to be moved (by us) from San Francisco to Vancouver in four days. So in the 950 miles we had to cover, we decided to spend two nights in the magical Redwood National Park in Crescent City, California.

Bryce was a pretty swell guy from California on a road trip across America to New York City. He was on his way to Austin, Texas to visit some friends when he picked Patrick and I up in Flagstaff, Arizona. (more…)
